Too bad....

We didn't know a thing about prominence in 2003. We were busy chasing the county highpoints but getting into prominence peaks didn't even start to happen until mid 2004. In retrospect that was too bad since there were about three or four others that would have been easy to get. Click here for map

Re: Too bad....

I'm not a big fan of having "Peak #" pages on SummitPost, but considering Pend Oreille County is a tiny but mountainous county, and Peak 7177 is the third-highest mountain in that county, I made an exception. I personally would not have posted the other unnamed peaks shown on your link.

Re: Too bad....

I remembered that I had a pic showing both the peak and Watch Lake in it so I attached it to your page. It was a pretty area but going down to Watch Lake wasn't even slightly tempting, even though we were there on a day when the temps were in the 90's.

Re: Too bad....

Thanks for adding a couple of photos to the page. I took multiple photos of Peak 7177, but only several came out. In fact, most of my photos from this weekend highpointing trip came out blurry. It might be nearly time for me to get a new digital camera. *sigh*
