Pectols Pyramid

Pectols Pyramid

Seen from Navajo Knobs Trail. Pectols Pyramid is on the south side of Utah 24 and is part of the larger Capitol Reef formation, a particularly scenic section of the even larger Waterpocket Fold. Navajo Knobs Trail is on the north side of 24. All looks I got at Pectols Pyramid from the trail suggested it is a technical climb. One could get quite high on the peak by scrambling and Class 4 climbing but would ultimately run into Class 5 conditions. That is based on approaching it from the north, the shortest and easiest apparent way to do so. Another look Capitol Reef National Park, Utah-- October 2009

If this had been named

'Pectorals' Pyramid, then I was expecting your
next picture to be a "hero" shot; displaying
your rippling pectorals.

Awesome shot, Bob!
