| A cold wintery hike that took about 3 hours. The snow was light by the dam and the temp was hovering in the low 30's. The summit accumulated about 9'' of snow and the temp dropped into the teens. A nice hike to break into the cold weather. | |

| Started at 2am from the Loj for a Great Range traverse. Weather was decent enough until we crossed treeline. Atop Marcy there was 20-30ft visibility, high winds, and very slick rocks -- not at all safe traverse weather! We turned back, hit Phelps on the way back, and took a (freezing!) dip in the river just above Marcy Dam. | ||

| My first trip up to the High Peaks after the storm, trails were in good condition. Nice views from summit. Spent time hopping around in Phelps Brook on the way down, poked around mostly dried up Marcy Dam, then off to the Cascade Lakes for kayaking. | |

| Hiked up Phelps Mt today. Excellent weather, great views and hundreds of very hungry blackflies! 8 miles, 5 hours and stopped to take plenty of pictures and ate lunch at the summit. | |

| We wanted a nice quick warmup hike before doing Colden from Lake Colden the following day and this peak definitely fit the bill. Good views from Big Slide all the way around to Algonquin and Wright. | |
