So BeautifulAll three shots you posted from the west branch of the Wonderland Trail are so beautiful but somehow this one is my favourite. I wonder is that Rainier on all three? I guess it is since it is an isolated mountain. I still don't recognize it from every corner but I'll get to that point :-)

Re: So BeautifulThank you Velebit. This is the Sunset Amphitheater side of the mountain. This part of the park seems to get the least foot traffic. If you are ever looking for a multi day hike I would recommend this area.

Peaceful location!Yes, I was here before in 1989, when I was a member of a NPS trail crew. Hiked all the way from Mowich Lake Road & Paul's Peak - beautiful day & PEACE-FILLED area. By the way, the "three summits on Rainier" are Liberty Cap, Colombia Crest & Point Success. There's also a silver forest or "ghost forest" here - created back in the 1930's by a runaway fire. It provided a good habitat for deer. Too bad the West Side Road got washed out, but that's the way Nature goes. GREAT PHOTO!
