another trail head or entrance?

I did a huge 19 mile loop day hike there last Spring. I Started at Chimney Tops and ended there without hardly retracing any steps to or from Clingmans. I forget all the trail names and stuff, but I made the plans through a friends map. Its a good map and you should check it out for tons of possibilities.

I'm assuming your talking about the AT-Goshen Prong-Sugarland Mountain Loop. If so, head in at the Chimney Tops parking area, its only gonna add a few miles to the trip. The NPS has a decent (free!) trail map but you should pick up the Trails Illustrated map mentioned above its by far the best of the Smokies.
