pear lake area -OR- tahoe conditions?

by jareds » Wed Feb 08, 2012 8:55 pm

i gotta get out - i know the conditions won't be great, but does anyone know if there's at least enough snow to skin into the tablelands area from wolverton?
i've never been down there and it's a haul, and it's difficult finding out up-to-date info about that area.

if thats no good, does anyone know if the sugarbowl-to-squaw route has enough coverage w/out having to hoof it across significant sections of dirt?

thanks!

Well this is the Sugar Bowl to Squaw route from a distance last Saturday. I did not encounter a single any bare area above 6000 feet, although that was because I remained on north facing slopes. As you can see in the pic there are quite a few bare areas, but they are below the higher elevations. Coverage isn't great but maybe it is good enough? That's the best I've got.

Tinker Knob is the higher and rounded peak left of center, and Granite Chief to the right. PM me with your email if you need full res pics or closeups.

The Pear Lake Hut has a Facebook page (I know, go figure). It has recent beta and a few pics.
