by chrishind_2005 » Thu Jan 18, 2007 10:03 pm

I'm planning on climbing mount Triglav in late feburary, has anyone any reccomendations for a route to take etc. I have scottish mixed winter climbing experience, but my partner is a novice winter climber. Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

Hi!
It's probably the combination of you two, which makes it hard to recommend something. And snow conditions vary in winter a lot. Tomorrow it will snow extensively. In such conditions you should at least have skis to ascend those 1500m of altitude to Kredarica hut. And there see if you can take a chance. If snow is hard enough you might try for example Slovenian route in the North face, which is UIAA II/III in summer. It all depends on conditions.

Cheers!

Wow, that's great news, Chris! Congratulations! I believe the conditions up there were not the best these times. Looking forward for some further information.
Cheers!
Vid
