If your carabiner breaks it's because you did something wrong. I look for biners that help make rigging easier, and always take the extra step to avoid cross loading. Keylocks are a must have for quickdraws - why I like the heliums.

I use dynotron lockers for tons of stuff, as they are light and secure. Oval wires are great for general purpose alpine, and a few Petzl OK oval lockers go with my glacier rig. I have a bunch of dynotron non lockers as well, but I'm replacing them with Oval Wires becuase they're so much more versatile. The Dynotrons are going to QuickDraw use.
