Jackson Hole Winter Hikes

by mancopa » Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:03 pm

Hello Everyone-

I'm going to be out in Jackson Hole for a ski trip this winter, but was hoping to maybe do a bit of day hiking. Nothing too intense. Either snowshoe or Cross Country skiis. I really am looking for spots to do some nice mountain photography. Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks a lot!

I'd go to Moose, head north and west from there. End up back at Dornan's for a drink.

Hermitage Point is awesome. Not much wildlife with snowcover though.

Blacktail Butte from Mormon Row turn off on Gros Ventre Road before [from Jackson] Kelly.

Miller Butte. Bighorns!

Antelope Flats two tracks: Don't step on any Moose, or Buffalo.

Polecat Hot Springs. 2nd Pool above the creek is as good as it gets. Soak at your own risk [Note NPS reccomendations I personally ignore]

Enjoy.
