Thoughts on Sterling rope...

by absinthe52 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 6:37 pm

Looking to buy a new rope for sport/trad/top rope climbing. Anyone with advice on the Kosmos/Velocity/Marathon series? Just not sure which would be the best fit. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Matt

Why Sterling? Fine ropes, but I prefer the feel of my Mammut. I have the Supersafe, which is pricey but should pay for itself in longevity. It's a bit heavy as well.

What's the split of sport/trad/toprope? Do you tend to push yourself and take falls often? Is longevity or light weight more important?
