National Park week in US. No fees this week.

I heard someone talking about this, so I looked at the NPS page, and sure enough it is true. Next week there are no fees to get into the National Parks. How about that!

My parents are currently in Utah seeing the 5 National Parks there.

Does anyone know if this applies to National Monuments as well? I haven't found a straight answer on the NPS web site. Might head out to Bandelier this week if it's free.

Utah definitely has a high concentration of NPs in one area. And I suppose if you're going to Cali you could hit up Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia and save about $50.

The NP I travel to most, the Great Smokies, is always free.
