Help with Trip Planning

by steelfrog » Tue Aug 31, 2010 3:18 am

Long story short--I go to California for 2 weeks a year--Whitney MR, Conness, etc. 4th class ok, no ropes (have used but don't plan to on this trip).

Originally was going to do MSH, but after seeing the pics of NCNP, decided to head there. Am coming with people who like to fish, but will hike a little. On Friday we will do Cascade Pass/Sahale Arm. Saturday they will fish and I can do what I want. Need suggestions please--Up to 12 miles, 6k gain, scrambling, etc. I have a Trails Illustrated NCNP map. Shuksan looks multi-Day. Goode looks multi-Day. Am looking for maybe a peak, but not necessarily; scenery is the main thing, along with some fun scrambling.

Any thoughts? Many many thanks.

You might consider Tomyhoi Peak. Summitpost has a page. Great scenery. I went up the Keep Cool Trail and it was a scramble. I think that there is a better way now.
