Gymnastic Ring training?

by LithiumMetalman » Mon Sep 20, 2010 7:50 pm

Hey guys,

Took a long time off the rings, don't remember what the progressions looked like.

Workout (Early Progression) :

Push-ups
knee Ring Flyes
Knee Jack knifes
Dips
Pull-ups
Stray cats

(Next progression):

Muscle-ups
Front & Back Levers
Ring Flyes
Full Jack Knifes
Planches

Does that look right? Aren't the workouts better limited to 3-4 exercises?

Any thoughts, pokes and advice appreciated!

Rings are awesome. If you want direct expert advice check out

http://gymnasticbodies.com/forum/

Coach Sommers is the US junior coach and his forum can point you in the right direction. He has athletes from all over the world checking in. If you are doing muscleups then you are already several steps ahead of me...

Keep up the good work.

Awesome!

The Basic Ring Strength Series was it!!

Thanks for the link it helped immensely

also this vid helped with the first progression set

Too kind on the muscle-ups, but I still struggle, kittens have stronger arms than I do! I can do them on bars but on the rings is a different story, way hard!! Small steps!

Happy ring trainings!
