Boliva - Guides

by eferesen » Fri Dec 10, 2010 5:48 pm

Greetings Spers,

I am planning a trip to Bolivia this summer and wanted to know about peoples opinion about these guiding services.

1) http://www.bolivianmountainguides.com
2) http://www.bolivianmountains.com

I have already checked this post (http://www.summitpost.org/phpBB3/bolivia-in-june-july-2011-t54129.html) but wanted know more as I read in another thread (which I cannot find any more) about some Bolivian guiding company to avoid. Some people were unhappy with their services and I just wanted to confirm that the two guiding services mentioned above were not the ones in question.

Also it is safe to send 50% deposit? Since these guys seem to be reputable I do not see why that would an issue. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Sincerely

I used Bolivian Mountains last September. They are very good and I definitely recommend them.

I am a little confused by the dual websites though. I went through Bolivian Mountains via the 2nd website listed above and climbed with Eduardo and Julio on my respective climbs. Both sites use the same guides so I don't think you could go wrong with either.
