Convict Creek and Laurel Mountain conditions

by Greg Enright » Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:45 am

Here are a few shots from today, July 10. The popular Northeast Gully route is still covered by snow on the bottom half of the route, and the upper half is sporting a pretty good stream.

Here is a shot looking up the gully.

Here is the stream crossing further up the canyon. There is definitely some potential for adventure here. The water is running with some real force. I would not recommend the crossing for at least a couple weeks.

The flowers are going crazy about a mile past the lake, and we saw more bald eagles than mosquitoes.
