Early Tuolumne Meadows Camping

by tyler4588 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:33 am

I was hoping to go up to the Tuolumne Meadows area for a few days in late May (I'm assuming the pass will open early this year), and I was wondering about camping up there. I know the campground in the area is closed, and I'm assuming Saddlebag Lake Campground won't open for a few weeks after the pass opens, so I'm not sure what the best spot to camp would be. I'd prefer to camp close by, and it'd also be nice to camp at elevation if that's possible. Any ideas?

Ahh sweet, do you think they'd be open before Memorial Day?

Most if not should be open the last weekend of April for the Fishing Season Opener.

You can call these dudes and they can give you the straight skinny for this upcoming seasons CG schedule as each year is different:

Mammoth Ranger Station, Mammoth Ranger District

Inyo National Forest
PO Box 148, Mammoth Lakes CA 93546 USA
