Mt. Borah Condition

by sm0421 » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:11 am

Hi, I am climbing Borah Peak on Aug 1st and I was wondering if anyone had recently climbed this peak via the standard route? I am debating if I should bring my axe and crampons.

Thanks!

Alex, you won't need climbing gear in August. The snow bridge is an easy, flat traverse. Here is a traffic cam for current conditions:

My main advice is to take plenty of water. You won't find any on the mountain and it is further to the top and back than it looks from the trail head! Have fun.
