Planning to attempt Mt. Hood via the Sunshine/Eliot Glacier route this coming weekend (June 6). Anyone been on this recently? Wondering two things:
1- I am planning to day trip this from Tilly Jane (Ranger District says road is open all the way). Is a day trip standard procedure on this route? Does anyone camp on the mountain?
2- Pertaining to snow conditions: not planning to bring any floatation...hope I won't be postholing??
