Breche de Roland, Pyrenees

Hi everybody. I am new to this Forum. I will go to Toulouse, FR for a while and would like to do some hikes in the Pyrenees. Especially Breche De Roland, starting from Cirque de Gavarnie. I would like to do it in Spring, just to avoid big crowds.
Is there anybody who hiked there recently and could share a trip report, and potential dangers, especially up in the snowfields?
Tourist information says the trail is open to hikers with technical gear.
I do have crampons an axe and appropriate clothing.
Not sure about climbing equipment on this route.

Anyways, I would like to make it a day hike next weekend, if anyone can share some information that would be greatly appreciated.

Did it in September 2011 with almost all the snow gone so the conditions were different and we didn't hike through the Cirque but started at Col de Tente. From there the hike is easy enough up to the refuge and indeed to the last snowfield right beneath the Breche. This was easy as well in September but I should guess you need crapmons this time of the year.

Heading onwards to Taillon also was much easier than the guidebooks claimed. There's a itty bit of scrambling around the Doigt de la Fausse Brèche but everywhere else the ridge is considerably broad.
