I'm looking for someone to resupply myself and my partner while we hike around in the high country for a few weeks this summer. Specifically, I'm looking to have someone carry in a week's worth of food for us, meeting us at the top of Taboose Pass on August 16 or 17.

I know, carrying 21 lbs up Taboose Pass for $100 doesn't seem like the best deal on earth. But for Sierra bums who need nothing more than a good excuse to get into the high country, it's not the worst deal on earth either.

I'm sure you'll find someone to do this. $100 to hike is pretty good. Only downside is that it is a weekday.

I'd be careful about paying in advance! I'd pay at the pass, a $100 bill is pretty light!

Your price is reasonable, I'd think someone will jump on it. $100 for a day's work is good.

Finally, if you can't find someone, you can always cache it yourself. Once I took my wife to a really sweet spot in the Sierra, about 35-40 miles in, but I wanted to keep our packs reasonable, so I went in in advance (about three weeks in advance) and cached some food. It was a lot of work, but it made the trip much more enjoyable. One thing though, if you make a cache, do it high (at least 12,000'). I placed our cache at 13,000 and it was untouched when I got it three weeks later. I have precached for myself a few times, and even though it's a lot of work, it's a good feeling when you recover it.

edit: I'll never forget that day, I left my wife at this pristine lake in the morning, and set off with an empty pack. I returned late that afternoon, opened up my pack, poured it all out on a slab and asked" honey, what would you like for supper?".

It would be better if you could plan the resupply day for a Saturday or Sunday - more people could do it.

Taboose? Why not pick a friendlier pass?
