| Beautiful tour: ideal conditions - outstanding views. Pics at http://www.skylightphotography.eu/skylightphotography.html. Initial plan to do a complete traversée had to be abandoned because of heavily overcrowded cabane de Chanrion & refurbishment works in Cabane des Vignettes. This was actually the 2nd time I was up there. Way back in 1979 I summited, departing from Arolla and via the cabane des Vignettes, up and down in 1 day. | |

| Nice and fairly easy climb. Unfortenatly the weather was quite bad, so I couldn't enjoy the magnificent view. Climbed it a second time on july 21 2011, this time from the Cabane des Dix. After some heavy snow it became a rather heavy climb, with half a meter fresh snow to go through. Reached the summit only after six hours in very bad weather (rather heacy snowfall). So also the second time on the summit I couldn't see anything of the surrounding mountain scenery. | |

| Outstanding views from the top, one of the best summit panoramas I've seen. We climbed up from the Brenay Glacier the previous day. Getting past the icefall at the bottom of this glacier was more complicated than we expected (steep, loose, rockfall danger, etc.). It seems that the Serpentine Glacier is the preferred approach these days. | |
