Three of flanks of this mountain are shoreline of the Kettle River as it loops into the U.S. from and then returns back into Canada. Porpoise Rock has numerous, short climbing routes and is situated in a cleft bowl that offers everything from off-track hiking and bouldering to technical climbing. Low elevation, very hot in the summer (watch out for rattlesnakes). The Kettle River at the base of the cliffs is at 1,830 feet, first ridge line approximately 2,500’ and the peak itself at approximately 5,000’. Ownership of this band of cliffs is BLM.
