Was I successful? Hmmm... at what? getting to the bottom? I don't know; just seems like a funny question to me... the only thing I really remember about my 1st visit was that it was the greatest elevation change I had experienced in my life at that point. This was just after my tenth birthday and only months after I had moved from FL to GA. I remember how I perceived it back then-- the hills were like mountains to me since I had only lived in FL before then.

Rim Trail and Backcountry Trail
While it was a really hot day (95+ degrees), there was enough shade and breezes to keep us cool. That being said, I would probably recommend folks visit the park in seasons other than summer.
