Re: What is...5.8. the Tom Sauders and Porter Jarrard climbs went to trad 5.11-12 often using sliders. The sport stuff of course is pretty open ended. Die you spot the Bill Forrest Titon protection in the picture?

Re: What is...Bill Forrest was(is) a Colorado climber who made some gear in the 1970's and early 80's. He loaned out his workshop to Ray Jardine who made is prototype friends there. A Titon was an extruded T-a passive camming device Here is an address that shows one rendered as a rappel device- Just fill in the two large oval cavities and you have the Titon
