Putah Creek

Putah Creek

This creek is the "Green River" of Creedence Clearwater fame. Forgerty had a vacation spot by the creek. Cobb Mtn., back left center, is the headwater of the creek which is 85 miles long and gets a lot bigger. It was a torrent of churning brown over the sand bar a week earlier. Mar 28 '16

Great!

The variety of colors in that picture are truly remarkable. Beautiful.

Re: Great!

Flash flooding because of the big fire, I assume. The landscape was suddenly denuded,
but will return to green before you can
whistle the first verse of White Wedding.

Or in this case, brown wedding.

Re: Great!

I think all the mud in the run-off of these creeks in the area is just from high water volume rather than ash from the fire.

Re: Great!

If they had a vast volume of water fall here, it'd be called a Red Wedding.

Re: Great!

I found out on Wiki that this creek is the "Green River" of Credence Clearwater fame. Fogerty had vacation spot by the creek. So now it's a Green Wedding.

Re: Great!

One of my "old school" friends had me believin' Fogerty had vacationed at the
Green River in Utah.

Fogerty gotta whiff of some swamp gas, then penned the classic hit ... It Came Out of the Sky !!

Green Wedding? I suppose the bride & groom drove off into the sunset in a Toyota Prius?
