Rainier from Capitol Peak

Rainier from Capitol Peak

Tahoma on a cloudy day. The photo really should have more contrast but oh well. Note that the cloud level is below me even though I'm on a pipsqueak peak of 2659 feet elevation. Let's say the cloud level is 2000 feet. So what you are seeing of Rainier which is 14410 feet is over 12,000 feet of relief. It lives up to its status as the most prominent peak in the lower 48 states of the US.
