I really

don't wish to have a run in with one of these guys....keep thinking about it while bushwhacking (sometimes on all 4's) in red rocks. Nice shot BTW.

Re: I really

Thanks. This one was a loud grown up, but still blended in really well with the rocks. My concer is also stumbling upon a baby rattler. They 've got to be really small and probably don't make any sounds. I'm not sure.
There are Mojave rattlers in Red Rocks also. I have never seen one, but from what I heard from other people most sightings were near the water.
Don't worry though, there's a much higher probability of meeting a rattlesnake around Lake Mead than in Red Rocks.

think I read somewhere that these are the worst (within US) in terms of toxicity of venom? thanks for the info.
