Reclining on the Tableland....

Reclining on the Tableland. My brother in law floating in the sky. Taken in 1982-about the time that Larry Walters of Los Angeles said. "I have fulfilled my 20-year dream," said Walters, a former truck driver for a company that makes TV commercials. "I'm staying on the ground. I've proved the thing works. Larry had purchased 45 thirty three cubic foot capacity helium weather ballons and attached them to a Sears Lawn Chair. Having a cooler with some Miller Lite and sandwiches and a pellet gun he planned to hover 30 or so feet above his neighborhood. Upon release he shot up into the air eventully reaching 16,000 feet to the mortification of airline pilots and the ire of the FAA. Eventually he used the gun to deflate some balloons and descended to power lines.
