Scary

With a colour scheme like that it certainly says keep clear.

Bright.

I see these little fellows from time to time in the Park. I've picked them up, so apparently there's nothing toxic about them, at all. Hard to say why they ended up so brightly colored.

I like it !

From my viewpoint, a creature that eats worms is always a friend of mine. Yes, it's true that bright colours can be warning signs. I need to venture out into the desert, and (somehow) get a photo of a Gila Monster. They are really poisonous, but awesome!!! Cheers!

Re: I like it !

The morning was cool and that newt was extremely sluggish. I think he'd probably latched onto that worm the evening before and was waiting for the sun to warm the forest.

Awesome ...

I don't blame the newt one bit! When I eat a meal, I prefer a warm place like a pickup truck or someplace with a heater cranked up!

Sweet!

That's awesome! How did you find the little guy? The coloring helps them hide in the leaves and scare off predators.

Re: Sweet!

He was easy to see, as he'd nailed that earthworm in the middle of the trail.
