Red Sun Over The Okanogan Highlands

Red Sun Over The Okanogan Highlands

2015 brought one heck of a difficult firestorm in NE Washington State and many of the other western states in the U.S.A. Washington had over one million acres burn. This image is of the red sun sinking over the Okanogan Highlands.

Valley fire

We lived through the Valley Fire in Lake County in Sept. Evac 2 weeks. Lots of friends lost homes. Whole mountains burnt out. Crowning trees on ridges at 40 mph! 3rd worst in state history. over 75,000 acres
I guess the smokey haze gives the sun such definition.

Re: Valley fire

It can be tough times when wildfires like these roar thru an area. Lots of evacuations here in the Okanogan Highlands. Now we are coming to terms with such a huge landscape of high country forests being destroyed.
