Route sign at the trail junction east of the Rüsselsheimer Hütte

I'm almost done for the day and only have to descend an easy trail, 10 minutes down to the Rüsselsheimer Hütte. There's no sign for it, but the refuge is hard to miss, all you have to do is follow the clear path downhill. Tomorrow I plan to climb Hohe Geige. As the signs say, there are two routes: the Normalweg and the Westgrat (hidden, but that's what it says). That's German for Normal Route and West Ridge, respectively. Later, at the refuge, I ask about the two routes, and learn that these days the West Ridge is actually easier and safer than the normal route! It must have been different in the past, or the normal route wouldn't carry that name... 28 June 2012.
