Access from Boulder, CO:
Take 40 west from I-70.
Park on the east side of the road at Berthoud Pass summit.
Run:
Devin Rourke, Luke Kroiss, Isaac Velander and I hiked west up to Russell Peak (12,240') and continued along the ridge to Elevation Point 12,391' and skied the northeast face to the road at ~10,840'. The snow up top had a breakable crust. Down lower in the trees, the snow got softer, but coverage was a huge problem most of the time.
