Happily dwarfed by the grandeur, Vern takes in the splendor of Dawson Pass as mighty Mount Phillips hides in persistent clouds. The legedary GNP roaring winds made the spot inhospitable and our visit was brief. Two years later, we would return triumphantly for a successful climb of Rising Wolf Mountain.
