SALAMANDER ICEFIELD OVER JOSEPHINE LAKE-GLACIER NP-MT

The Many Glacier area probabely has some of the best hiking trails in Glacier National Park. Whether it is a stroll, a day hike, or a multi-day "expedition", you can find it here. This image was taken in July, 2008 from Lake Josephine, looking torward the Salamander icefield. It is sad to note the this icefield, along with Grinnel Glacier, is rapidly vanishing due to climate change.
