While my wife spent some time fighting the mosquitoes, I went up from the cemetary and found my way to the summit. Warm day but reasonable with a breeze. Found the register and the benchmark. Nice views and a worthwhile hike with over 1500' of elevation gain.
We didn't set out to hit the summit, but had false or mistaken information that that the washes below were prime for geode hunting. We started from the road approx. 1/2 mile north of the cemetary and ended up on the south summit not realizing that crossing the ridge would lead us to a NGS marker and the real(actual) prize. Regardless it was much fun and very satisfying. Looks like we were the first to sign the logbook since it was installed up top.
