I grew up around there, in the little town of Monteview. It's southeast from Webber and Scott Peaks. And, I worked on Nicholia Ranch for a few summers running cattle and sheep. I was a teenager then, and didn't care much about mountains. It's is a great area though, still pretty wild and undisturbed. Very nice page Dean, as usual. Hopefully, I'll actually get to climb some of those "hills" someday.
Monteview? The dentist that bought my practice in Kennewick married a gal from Monteview. I can't remember her maiden name but she commented on the great views of the mountains from their and knew which one was Diamond and which one was Scott. A great area to grow up in. My dad was born in Arco so I have a bit of a connection to that part of Idaho. Thanks for your comments and vote.
People share an amazing bond with mountains, even though they are
so-called "new-comers" in the geologic scheme of things.
It snowed above 7,000' in central Arizona last night! Sometimes,
ALTITUDE is just a number. ATTITUDE is really all that matters!!!
(And, a nice smile is icing on the cake!)
What it all has to do with mountains in Idaho, your guess is
probably much better than mine. Outstanding page, Dean!!!

Re: AltitudeIt sure was. Evidently I plugged the signature photo number into the wrong spot initially. Thanks for the heads up.
