Thanks for the article.

Albeit, the guy couldn't even name it correctly.

It's two words for the peak (Ship Rock) but one word for the nearby town (Shiprock).

he is unsure of the permits required, well I can tell you, if he had put 2 or 3 seconds into finding out, climbing and hiking on Ship Rock has been prohibited for almost 50 years. just driving on the dirt road is prohibited.

That said, there are no signs or fences, but if the Navajo police want to harass/arrest you for trespassing on their holy mountain, they have every right to do it.
