Beautiful View, but lost on the way back down
I decided to run up this mountain as a 1/2 day hike. Parked my car on the paved road off lake davis rd. Started running the 1 mile on paved road making the left turn at the sign that says Mt Smith. Has a great view on the top, lots of trees, and no other hikers on this day. Just be careful and mark your return back down as there are many fire roads. I ended up taking the wrong turn. My original route was going to be 10 miles. I ended up on running 18 miles. My fault for not being prepared. Fortunately, I have a good sense of direction. Otherwise, I could have been out all night. If you look at the map, there are many fire roads that could end up causing problems.
