Haven't had tje chance yet. Glad to see there are some more mellow routes and not just Rude Boys and stuff for the Magazines!

Thanks for the good vote. BTW, checked out your Emory Peak photos. Good stuff! So that's where Oklahoma'n mountaineers go to escape the winter? Would definitely like to make it out to Big Bend NP one day - looks like a great (esp. winter) destination.

You're right. Big Bend or Guadalupe Mountains are the place to go in the dead of winter. However, Big Bend is farther from OK than it is to Colorado. Actually, winter is when we get all our single-pitch rock climbing done. It's too hot to rock climb in the summer in Oklahoma......so we go to the Rockies!

You know if you need to escape the snow and rain, Smith is usually a good option for that this time of the year :).

Not sure yet. I almost went last August, but had a conflict. A group of us Spokaners usually do 1 or 2 field trips per year down there, and I'm definately making the trip this year.
