Super long day
We tried this as an alternate route to the standard western approach via "Coffeepot." THAT route is staggeringly loose. Via the Bimetalist Mine is probably a bit longer in terms of length but man, once you crest the shoulder and drop down into Senator Gulch, WOW! The views are amazing.
Still have a ton of loose junk to deal with once on the upper mountain, but it's not consistent or elongated like the standard route. Long day but recommended.
