Southwest Face route summary

Southwest Face route summary

Entire Southwest Face route from near the 11800' tarns. The "right-hand chute" described by Secor actually appears to be a small lateral moraine. The "left-hand chute" which makes up the bulk of the route is a proper gully on the steep part of Black Kaweah.

Not quite

I don't think you have the route drawn correctly, or if you do, you climbed something much different than we did. I marked up your photo to match what we did here. I'm not sure about the ramp location because I didn't use the ramp for ascent or descent.

Nice page, btw - thanks for adding it!

Re: Not quite

Bob, I think you're exactly right. For some reason, I could never spot the black waterfall from below, but the other two guys could. Couldn't spot it after the climb on my photos, either! When I get some time this weekend I'll make the changes. Thanks, Morgan.

Re: Not quite

Hey Bob,

couldn't find the link provided (w/ the route overlay)- did the address change? I'd like to get ahold of it (preferably by this weekend :) Thanks!
