| This route, also known as the "Kamikaze Falls" or "This Is Not A Trail" route, had a little of everything today: Wet scrambles, STEEP paths, seemingly disappearing trail sections, and snowy & slippery inclines (including wet snow, soft snow, hard snow, and icy snow). With the conditions like they were, and because we were each carrying full heavy backpacks, we were satisfied with a three-hour summit ascent (including short breaks and multiple photo stops) using this route.
We have heard that this trail will eventually be maintained better, so we can take solace in knowing we did it during its near-most difficult traverse. |
