Spawning Yellowstone cutthroat trout

Spawning Yellowstone cutthroat trout

If you like to watch trout instead of catching them, the spring spawn is a good time to do it. This is a spawning Westslope cutthroat trout on the gravel redd in the inlet stream to Trout Lake, Yellowstone National Park. The spawn here comes in the second half of June.

I'm thinking.......

those are Yellowstone not Westslope Cutthroats, if you're talking about the Trout Lake not far from Cooke City.
