Awesome shot...do you know why they are the '2nd' fastest land mammal on earth? Evolution baby... Neogene deposits in Southern Colorado show pronghorn fossils being found with... cheetah fosssils! That's right, the african cousin lived in North America not too long ago, before the last round of ice ages. The pronghorns live on and now the cheetahs are gone.

This picture...is so underappreciated and it deserves a gold medal in wildlife action shots. I wish I could vote again.

Re: This picture...Thanks, Anya. As you know, sometimes you're in the right place at the right time with your camera, and you get lucky.

Seing Them Run ...Seeing them run is both fascinating and rare; they mostly just stand around whenever I come across them. But capturing them running in a photo? Wonderful! --mark d.

Re: Seing Them Run ...Thanks, Mark ... they're so fast I had to pan the camera with them ... that's why the background is a little blurred.
Peace, Jim

Sorry I didn't seethis sooner, Jim. Beautiful animals!
Don't quote me, but I believe they're
extending their range into northern UT.
