Spending hours, admiring flowers

Spending hours, admiring flowers

My wife enjoys a golden field full of desert wildflowers (and Saguaro cactus) in central AZ, just west of Roosevelt Lake. Usually, we spot a few growing alongside the road, but this year several hillsides were completely covered. Of course, she wanted to spend a few hours admiring them. I was in total agreement. It was a spectacular display of natural beauty. (04-16-2008)

Re: Beautiful Colors

Thank you, Karrar! Actually, the wind was
blowing about 25 miles per hour when I took
this picture. Have a nice day and take care.

Ah yes...

I got to experience this scene myself just a few days ago. I was kicking myself for not stopping to take a picture (no place to pull over though)of this fantastic yellow color display as we sped north after leaving our visit to Browns Peak. Thank you for reminding me that this type of scene is found only in Arizona - saquaros and golden wildflowers....a "wow" experience.

Re: Ah yes...

Dean? Where are you; are you back in Lehi?
When I snapped the photo of this golden scene, it required driving off the main road onto a 'dirt' FS-Road called "3 Bar Road." It's the one going off to the west (left) on the northern end of the BIG lake you must have noticed. On the map, it's due north
of the Rock Creek drainage. If I would have
known you were coming by, I would have
flagged you down! It was an awesome display.

I was beginning to think you had fell off the
face of the Earth! Welcome back to civilization, Dean! - Larry of AZ
