The Spring Ridge Trail climbs 1,200 feet in 1.8 miles. It begins in the town of Portola Valley, ascends along Spring Ridge up steep, grassy slopes, and end at the summit of Windy Hill. The trail makes a great bike ride, jog, or hike up to the summit.

Getting There

Exit I-280 at Alpine Road head south, toward the hills. You'll pass through the residential areas of Portola Valley. The trailhead is located about .1 miles pass Willowbrook Drive, on the right side. Park, and head up the Spring Ridge Trail.

Route Description

The trail starts out a little flat, but begins to climb soon. You'll ascend the steep grassy slopes up towards Windy Hill, which is clearly insight fomr most of the trail. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk up the trail. The trail will crest and end at the gate at Skyline Blvd. Go left, and up a small trail just to the right of the information sign. This will take you to the summit. Take in the beautiful views, and re-trace your steps back down.
