thanks Steve. I'm on a thick, static rope here -- I was told that that's what you & others use(d) for rapping out of helos?

Yes, I have seen guys loose fingers. We had to "GET THE #^*% off my bird now soldier"! So you had to move quickly.

It looked pretty thick in your pic, of course ours looked like thin thread.
