Standard route up North Twilight
I went up North Twilight without much information - I knew that there is an East ridge leading to the summit.
I hiked up above the Crater Lake and lost the trail, no cairns, clouds came in, and did not even see the summit of North Twilight. I spotted a ridge on the left side of the photo - route marked blue and went up that way. I scrambled over some loose towers and blocks, and would not recommend that route. I encountered class 4 terrain.
On the way down I discovered a nice trail leading to the basin with flowers - see photo, and approximately marked in red. It looks steep from this angle, but it was not that steep, class 2, nice trail stepped into the grass, no scree. I lost the trail roughly where the red mark ends. If I would have known about the existence of the this trail, I would have made my trip much easier and safe time and energy.
So, just head for the red trail and on the mellow start of the east/north east ridge, you will spot a nice trail.
The false peak is not that high as it appears from this angle. It is easy to follow the route higher up and the views are spectacular.
