Sundial & Monte Cristo

Sundial Peak and Monte Cristo as seen from Lake Blanche. Sundial Peak rises about 1400 feet above the lake. Monte Cristo is to the left of the peak in the background and that is about 2200 feet above the lake. Thats my shadow to the bottom left of the picture. Its hard to believe Salt Lake Valley is less than 5 miles away (as the crow flies). Taken late evening on 7/1/2008.

But ... I'm ashamed and embarrassed that out
of the 13 years I lived in northern Utah, I
never took the time to hike up to Lake Blanche.
