Sounds so cold but wonderful!

I love your pictures especially the "Early morning view from the Geiereck" one. It has such a peaceful feeling.

Excellent work Eric!

Re: Sounds so cold but wonderful!

Thanks a lot, dear Kathy - that's a lovely surprise to hear from you again!! I'm happy you enjoyed this little "oeuvre" of mine - I do admit to feeling a bit...hmm...proud of what my camera brought out this time! With a lot of the best ones I didn't have to do any photoshopping at all, except for sharpening, also with the one you specially mentioned.
The Untersberg - the mountain I see every day out the window of my flat in Salzburg - is a very special place indeed. Wish I could take you up there on one of these special days of "inversion weather"! I've seen the sceneries I photographed this time already many times throughout the last years - it's always in winter that this awesome weather situation occurs at the foot of the Alps - and it takes my breath just every time!
How are you doing, dear Kathy?
A big hug,
Eric

These are rediculous!

I'm really amazed at how good a collection of photos these are. So many yet all so different too. Same as Kathy think this one is my favorite but they are all really just as good. I hope eventually I am in a place for two days like this.

What really impresses me is how much better they look when you view them full size, on top of how good the initial, smaller view is. All photos aren't like that and the smaller size here just can't do them justice.

Re: These are rediculous!

Thanks very, very much, dear mrchad9! This is a comment I highly appreciate!!! Especially your pointing out that it makes all the difference oftentimes if one takes the time - at best ten or fifteen seconds - to open the pictures to full size! This is the reason why I wrote under so many of my pictures "enlarge", "best viewed full size", "the quality is better when opened to full size" etc., hoping the people will take the time to do so and judge by the true quality of the photo.
Many greetings and cheers,
Eric

Sigh!

How absolutely beautiful Eric. How I envy you the opportunity to live in and explore such a wonderful part of the world...and then to be a musician on top of it all...you are truly blessed! Nice story, gorgeous photos!

Re: Sigh!

Thanks a lot for dropping by, cedarbend! I'm glad you enjoyed my report - and, yes, I do consider myself lucky to live in this corner of the world! But after all I've seen throughout the last year on SummitPost, I dare say the USA also has an amazing number of wild nature areas of breathtaking beauty!

All the best to you and your family in 2011,

Eric
